Not best recording but stellar Performance.
Like most have said it seems that the soundboard was playing tricks on everyone for a little while but the band was in stellar form, DS is def a trip back, def one to listen to - also the GD never returned to San Antonio again in my memory , although I could be wrong... Anyway def worth a listen, the performance alone is def worth it.. four stars.

G.D.T.R.F.B-Everybody ate their Wheaties!
Warning: If sound board quality is a major deal for you everything before Jack Straw is 3 stars
However everything from Jack Straw on is a Solid 5 stars.
Dark Star>Me & Bobby
(anything more perfect for a show in San Antonio)
Sweet Brokedown
The notes say G.D.T.R.F.B >Saturday Night but it might just mean they didn't leave the stage after G.D.T.R.F.B because they don't jam it into Saturday Night.
Note: My apologies on giving this show a 4.
I am sure if I had experienced it live
or if the board could be cleaned it would easily be a five but since I average sound into a review there is no way the total sum of things can equal 5 for me
I compare this with the other Soundboards
here at the GD Archive not against the sound of my old tape collection.

Tremendous Dark Star.
Worth the ticket for that alone. I like this version better than the more recent one.

You want underrated?
Here it is. Not the best soundboard but this is a five and only five star show. This is literally the best GDTRFB ever. Play as loud as possible! Phil is prominent!

it really isn't THAT bad...
I have analog tapes that I listened to over & over that sounded a whole lot worse than the first part of this recording, so by comparison it's not all that bad. You can hear everyone on stage, it just sounds like your listening to it with ear plugs.
I have found every song--I'm up to PITB--to be played with the aplomb they gave to seemingly EVERY show in '72. The quality of the performance excuses the sound quality, so go ahead & LISTEN---it's ALL in the music...

Not that bad...
...after you axe the first 15 or so tracks! And thats too bad because its 72 and the band just would'nt disappoint. The sound just sucks for the first half- hissy, kinda distorted, and just plain uncomfortable to listen to. From Jack Straw though its a whole different story. Everything levels off and with the exception of some hiss things start to sound pretty good. Dark Star is really enjoyable with some nice groviness throughout and Brokedown is sweet as usual. I really like the Jack Straw and Big River is fun too. Theres a cut in Bobby McGee which might pull you back into reality but its forgiving.
Over all, this is pretty good when you get past the lousy sound in the beginning. I say get it- you should be happy you did!
If there were only the second set I would probably give it a 5. It's that good. Since this is the whole show I gotta give it a 3 since the first set is hard to listen to...

A Soaring Feeling Groovy Jam
My four stars are assigned solely to the Dark Star.
If nothing else, you simply must check out the Feeling Groovy Jam in the DS, from about
18:10 to 20:40. There's a fair amount of hiss, but even so, I've been listening to it over and over. Thanks to whoever inserted the seven second-long splice at 20:08.
Soon after the ultra-happy FG jam, things get decidedly dark and scary. Chilling stuff. Download at least this one great song!
